Inspired by nature has been running craft events in Bevendean & Moulsecoomb for over ten years.
Back in 2015 helping at FABS (Friends of Bevendean School), to more recently running a craft club that runs alongside Bevendean Food Bank. We have worked as a workshop assistant with Our Place (part of Brighton Festival)in 2023, and 2024. Aswell as working with children at the Bevy’s Family Thursdays and with Forest school craft activites in Bevendean Community Garden.
In this past year we have been running a series of Craft & Connection workshops with adults connecting the seasons with a natural crafts including Wreath making, A spring Treasure tree, and Beltane Wheel.
Working in partnership with other community groups such as Cooking Good in the Community, The Bevy, Our Place, Fernee Forest Club, FABs, and Bevendean Foodbank.
Our style is very much in line with Forest School practices in giving participants a range of materials and offerings, the crafts need no previous experience and are aim is to relax and enjoy playing rather than creating creative anxiety.
Working with the seasons in mind, we create a craft event using materials that are recycled or donated, buying minimal new materials. We work with children & adults. Examples of workshops include;
Winter – Wreath making, gift boxes, cards,
Spring – Plant pot decorating, and seed planting, bunting, Spring intention tree.
Summer – Nature frame, plant pot painting, flower crown making
Autumn – Googly eyed spiders, Ghosty bunting
